Pitchshifter formed in 1991 and helped to kick off the UK's "extreme noise" mania of the early 90's. They have releases on the small Peaceville Label as well as two full lengths and two EPs on Earache. They went on to sign to Geffen Records and released www.pitchshifter.com, which combines drum and bass rhythms with punk guitar lines and is a giant leap forward for the band. Luke Vibert has been making some of the most tweaked out and original sounding electronic music of the past few years. He has recorded under the aliases Wagon Christ, Plug, and Luke Vibert.
