"Plunkett & Macleane" original motion picture score (Melankolic 6260) release dare: 6.29.99 featured tracks in real audio "Ball" "Escape" "Houses In Motion" Plunkett & Macleane is the directorial debut of Jake Scott, son of director Ridley Scott. Set in the 18th century, the film stars Robert Carlyle (Plunkett) and Johnny Lee Miller (Macleane) as the two notorious highwaymen, and Liv Tyler as Lady Rebecca. Plunkett & Macleane is an irreverently humorous film with contemporary dialogue and cream of 90s acting talent cast. This is Craig Armstrong's second film score following his critically acclaimed album, The Space Between Us. His first film score, Romeo & Juliet, earned him an Ivor Novello & Bafta award. For Plunkett & Macleane, Craig has composed and conducted 21 pieces of music. These range in diversity from the beautifully haunting atmosphere of "Hymn," "Unseen" and "Ruby," through the pulsating beats and strings of "Ball," to a reworking of the Talking Heads song "Houses In Motion." Vocal duties for this innovative cover are provided by Melankolic's Lewis Parker, and Helen White (contributing vocalist to Alpha). |
