A Night At The Playboy
Mansion
selected and mixed by Dimitri From Paris
mixed CD & unmixed double vinyl set (8 original full length tracks)
(Astralwerks 49122)

Bah Samba "Reach Inside" (Estero/2000)
This has been a classic for me, from about 3 years ago, when it wasoriginally released. The live instruments, bass, horns... mix perfectly well, with Phil Asher's immaculate Restless soul remix, featured here.

Mecca Headz "Star" (Centerstage/1998)
Based around a sample from Philadelphian band Aquarian dream, this track
combines the best of today's dancefloor energy with an vintage glamour disco
feel. You're a Star baby!

Astrojazz "The Groove EP" (?/1999)
A delightful production from UK based Astrotraxx team, this vocal mix, out
of the Groove EP, elusive vinyl 12", puts the Jazz scat back on the scene.

The Originals "Down To Love Town" (Motown/1976)*
"Down To Love Town" was a classic at the legendary Paradise Garage club in
New York, back in the 80's. I re-structured it here to spread the energy of
the short second half, into a much longer bass, strings and voical workout.
Thank you Larry!

La Pregunta "Shangri-La" (GNP/1978)*
A late 70's, classic breakdance record, "Shangri La" was arranged by
legendary John Davis. Here again, my re-edit, exclusive to this record,
leaves out most of the vocal parts in favor of the amazing breaks.

Stetsasonic "Talkin' All That Jazz" (Tommy Boy/1998)
Self named the "original hip hop band" Stetsasonic are true hip hop pioneers
from the mid 80's. The version of my remix included here was never available
on CD before. Enjoy!

Salome de Bahia "Outro Lugar" (Yellow/1999)
Salome, is one of the funkiest brazilian singer there is! Despite being
already a grandmother, she delivers one of the best versions of Stevie
Wonder's classic: "Another Star".

Atmosfear "Motivation" (Disorient/1998)*
This underground UK band from the 80's has influenced so many DJ's and
producers. Their mix of Dub, Disco and Jazz, is still unequalled today.
Respect to it's founder Andy Sojka, who recently passed away.

Cerrone "Give Me Love" (WEA/1977)
France's, 80's pride, Jean Marc Cerrone has given the nightlife world, a
string of hedonistic, Disco symphonies. "Give me love" is one of the most
luxurious.

Sunburst Band "I'll Be There For You" (Z/1999)
Dave Lee AKA Joey Negro, out of the UK, is probably the producer who has
done the most to keep the Disco sound alive and growing. Once again he
does no wrong here. Much Respect, Senor Dave.

Terry Hunter "Sweet Music" (MAW/1999)
A respected Chicago DJ and producer, Terry teams up here with Kenny "Dope"
Gonzales of MAW, to deliver a true Gospel, Disco stomper.

Pascal Rioux "The Place Is Rockin'" (Rotax/1999)
Out of Lyon, the capital of French cuisine, comes Pascal and his Rotax
label. Amongst the most promising new talents on our scene, they show us,
how well they know their classics...

Black Masses "Wonderful Person" (MAW/1998)
Another personal favorite, that has not left my record case since it's
release. Masters at Work remix production creates a silk cushion, for this
jewel vocal to delicately rest upon.

Ashford & Simpson "Found A Cure" (Warner Bros/1979)*
Nick and Valerie, the original Disco couple! They have written most of
the 80's biggest club hits: "The Boss", "I'm Every Woman","Ain't No Mountain
High Enough" and much more..."Found A Cure" is truly uplifting and is
featured here in my exclusive re-edited form.
