a night a the playboy mansion - dimitri from paris

Instead of jumping directly to Volume 3 in their compilation series, The Respect Is Burning crew approached Dimitri about a mix CD done in conjunction with Playboy. The result is A Night At The Playboy Mansion. The album is pure nirvana for all fans of the retro disco house music explosion. The music conjures up the stylish hedonism of Paradise Garage era New York while the graphics evoke Playboy's '70s golden years, further exploring Paris' ongoing infatuation with funky Americana.

Alongside Daft Punk and Cassius, Dimitri From Paris is widely considered one of Paris, France's most accomplished DJs, remixers and recording artists. Based in France, but born in Turkey, Dimitri got his start in music in the mid-80s, DJing on the French Radio 7. This lead to work scoring international commercials for Yves Saint Laurent and Bourgeois, among others. Dimitri's recording career took off between 1993-1994, when he released two solo EPs plus the mini-album, Esquisses. His 1998 debut album, Sacrebleu, was a commercial and critical success in the U.S., propelled by the Volvo TV ad that used his "Une Very Stylish Fille" track. Since then Dimitri has DJ'd at club events around the world and produced some very impressive remixes, most notably his remix of the worldwide smash "Music Sounds Better With You" by Stardust, which appeared on Respect Is Burning Volume 2.
