He can’t sing and he doesn’t write lyrics. Yet with more than 4 million albums scanned in the US and DJ gigs that have outdrawn most rock stars, Fatboy Slim has become an undeniable part of the musical backdrop. Phrases like “Right about now, the funk soul brother,” “Right here, right now,” and “I’ve got to praise you” have all become part of the vernacular while images of Christopher Walken dancing and Spike Jonze spastically shimmying have become indelible images. With 5 Grammy nominations (including one win) and an unprecedented 9 MTV video awards, it is little wonder that Fatboy Slim’s audience crosses over into the rock, pop and dance worlds and extends from club kids up to soccer moms.

And now for the first time ever, The Greatest Hits – Why Try Harder? brings together all the songs that made Fatboy Slim the biggest dance artist and DJ on the planet. This collection also includes two brand new tracks “Champion Sound” and the new single "That Old Pair of Jeans” featuring vocalist Lateef of Blackalicious.

And if that’s not enough the album also features Fatboy Slim’s two biggest selling remixes, being the only remixer to two have two UK charting remixes released as singles: Cornershop's "Brimful Of Asha(Fatboy Remix)" which reached #1 and Groove Armada's "I See You Baby (Fatboy Slim Remix)" which reached #5.

The Greatest Hits: Why Make Videos- DVD
Release Date: July 18, 2006

An exhausted businessman dressed in a suit and tie has collapsed into a hotel lobby armchair. All of a sudden he is stirred by the strains of “Weapon of Choice” coming from a radio perched atop a housekeeper’s cart. Revived by the music, he slowly rises from his chair. Then with a sudden burst if energy and with the grace of Fred Astaire he launches into a dance routine that takes him throughout the entire hotel That man is Christopher Walken. And that video is Fatboy Slim’s “Weapon Of Choice.”

When it comes to videos, Fatboy Slim doesn’t have movie star looks, can’t act to save his life and rarely appears in his videos. Yet with an unprecedented 9 MTV Video Awards and a Grammy, he has helped take the art of the music video to a new level. When it comes to innovative, cutting edge and, ultimately, good fun videos, Fatboy Slim has truly raised the bar with videos that not only elevate the musical experience, but create a whole new experience in their own right.

Using directors like Spike Jonze, Hammer & Tongs, Roman Coppola, Tim Pope, Jon Watts, Traktor, Brian Beletic, he has constantly pushed boundaries and helped to make the video more integral in the process of creating a record than ever before.

But The Greatest Hits: Why Make Videos is not simply a chance to own Fatboy Slim’s genre defining videos – it’s also jam packed with more rare footage and insights into the stories behind the videos than you could shake a Hawaiian shirt and bottle of vodka at.

Where else can you see exploding toilets, dressed-up kittens, a partying werewolf in a tuxedo, a nightclub being demolished, a Caribbean island gone berserk, an Academy Award and Golden Globe winning actor flying in the air, an Oscar nominated director dancing down Hollywood Boulevard, and Paris Hilton in a bikini all in one DVD?

Get ready for a celebration of some of pop music’s funniest, wildest, most entertaining videos from one of the biggest names around.

Fatboy Slim at Loch Ness

Saturday 24 June 2006 will see international superstar DJ Fatboy Slim play a one-day outdoor gig in the Scottish Highlands.

The landmark event will take place, for the first time ever, on the banks of spectacular Loch Ness, outside the village of Dores, four miles south-west of Inverness

This is the first time in eight years Fatboy Slim has played in Scotland and up to 20,000 music-lovers are expected to join the massive celebration for this historic Midsummer's Day gig.  A stellar line-up of some of the biggest names in dance including Carl Cox, Mylo and Slam are confirmed to date as special guests, with more names to be revealed soon.

Fatboy Slim at Loch Ness will coincide with the June release of his much anticipated Greatest Hits album and fans can expect to hear many of the anthems which have made him, arguably, the world's most famous DJ.

"Unable to find a suitable beach back home, we went looking further afield.
Bondi in Australia, and Bahia in Brasil came up trumps. So we tried Brighton again, and they just weren't having it. Then our friends in Northern Ireland invited us to play Port Rush beach. Fantastic!
Then we thought, what if we could find a beach in Scotland too?
Then the phone rang...........Loch Ness calling.
Funny how these things happen!
Apparently there'll be northern lights that night. The site is a beauty.
The Celts are renowned for their partyability.. And we've got some cracking special guests on the bill.
We needed something to do on Glastonbury weekend, and I couldn't think of a more suitable caper! " - Fatboy Slim
