The Australian band will make its U.S. television debut tonight on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” After the taping, Empire of the Sun will perform an extended set in front of thousands of fans at the show’s Hollywood Blvd. Studio. The concert will kick off the new monthly Jimmy Kimmel Live Stream concert series, which will be livestreamed in HD on Myspace, giving fans unable to get to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! concert backlot a chance to see their favorite bands live both on Myspace and on ABC.com. In a review of the band’s performance at Bonnaroo, Rolling Stone observed, “they pumped up the jams from their just-released dance-pop tour de force Ice on the Dune with a foggy, laser-laden spectacle to dazzle 4 a.m. candy flippers” while Billboard noted, “Empire of the Sun’s crowd never wavered, and soaked in the gonzo electro-pop act…”

Empire of the Sun will perform at Bonnaroo this Saturday, June 15. The interactive, multi-platform music series returns with new social gaming challenges that allow fans to access secret shows in four cities. Astralwerks: Music in 20/20 , recently released for Record Store Day, spans 20 artists, over 20 years, and includes 20 tracks pressed onto retro-groovy vinyl flexi discs. Kolosine also received an Executive Producer Grammy Nomination for the critically acclaimed soundtrack “Six Feet Under”. About Glenn Mendlinger: Beginning his Astralwerks career in 1998 as project manager for The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, Glenn Mendlinger ultimately became General Manager of the label in 2007 and has been overseeing it ever since. He credits his tenure at Astralwerks and the success of the label to two important components: his love for Electronic music as well as a commitment to artist development. Mendlinger grew up in NYC amidst the New York house music scene and rave culture of the late ’80s and began his industry career doing A&R for East West/Elektra where he inked a label deal with seminal electronic label Warp Records.

LUNE is a music project fronted by Linnéa Martinsson. Rooted in the dance and performance world she first began to write songs with two chords and simple, direct lyrics before teaming up with various collaborators.  ‘LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND” is not her first foray into the world of dance music as Martinsson also provided the vocals for Adrian Lux’s huge dancefloor hit “Teenage Crime.”
