Air's Record Makers label presents "I Hear Voices"
Record Makers was established in Paris, France in 2000 as a means of discovering and presenting new underground talents that appealed to the ears of Nicolas Godin and JB Dunckel (Air) and their friends and managers. Their first new artist release was the eclectic and eccentric songs of Sebastien Tellier, whose album "L'Incroyable Verite" appeared in the summer of 2001. Sebastien performed live throughout that year opening for Air on their world tour, confounding some ears but delighting many more.
Having been instrumental in compiling the acclaimed Sourcelab and Source Material collections of the late '90s, members of the Record Makers crew decided it was time to present a new collection of renegade sounds from Paris and beyond. Here we have sixteen previously unreleased songs, which draw on a variety of styles and sounds including hip-hop, electro-pop, French "chanson" and dark disco.
