Claire Debut with new Broken Promise Land EPSep 24, 2013
Releasing today on Astralwerks “Broken Promise Land,” the debut EP from Claire. On “Broken Promise Land,” the Munich-based five-piece offer up a wide swath of reference points – electro, indie, pop, even some R&B – resulting in a Technicolor hybrid of wistful, electronic, synthpop that is uniquely Claire’s own.
Driven by laser tight production and carried by the undeniable voice of front-woman Josie Claire Bürkle, Claire’s sound is a child of the internet, its music a pulsating meditation on the modern sonic palate. Debut single “Games,” a buoyant anthem to love’s labors, is out now on Astralwerks. Today Entertainment Weekly premieres a remix of the track from Passion Pit.
Claire, a top-20 HypeMachine charting act which has toured internationally with Chvrches and Bastille, is set to play its first-ever US shows in October including Filter’s Culture Collide Festival on Saturday October 12th, and multiple shows during CMJ in New York City, taking place October 15-19. Claire’s full CMJ schedule will be announced soon.
