NPR Music is offering fans an exclusive “First Listen” to Haiku From Zero in the week leading up to its September 22 release. Fans can stream the album NPR declares “magnificently ambitious” in its entirety HERE through September 21.

Haiku From ZeroCut Copy’s first proper studio album in nearly four years and first for Astralwerks – contains some of the catchiest songs the band has ever recorded, and also some of its most sonically adventurous. The follow-up to 2013’s Free Your Mind, Haiku From Zero was produced by Ben Allen (Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Neon Indian).

Pitchfork praised “Standing in the Middle of the Field as “a spirited bop with some sly pensive tension at its core…With it, Cut Copy reassert their ability to turn even moody introspection into floor-filler bliss.” A 7” of “Standing in the Middle of the Field” featuring an exclusive, unreleased b-side will be available to those who pre-order the vinyl edition of Haiku From Zero at select U.S. record stores. To find a participating store, visit https://CutCopy.lnk.to/StoreFinder. Cut Copy also shared a remix “Standing in the Middle of the Field” by Ara Koufax this week, listen on SoundCloud HERE.

“Airborne,” the album’s first single, was hailed by Stereogum as “a disco-pop odyssey that sounds like, well, soaring through the sky, before eventually blasting off into psychedelic bliss.” Noisey said, “it’s definitely a ‘match your steps to the tempo of the song as you walk down the street’ kind of jam.” Paste Magazine found the accompanying video – directed by Gerson Aguerri (The Vaccines, Breakbot) of the Barcelona-based production company CANADA – “wildly imaginative” and noted, “[it] follows frontman Dan Whitford as a trek for a late-night munch leads him down a surreal rabbit-hole filled with otherworldly characters and bizarre street views.” View the “Airborne” video HERE.

Cut Copy will support Haiku From Zero with a North American headline tour that kicks off on November 9 at The Catalyst Club in Santa Cruz, CA. The run will include a November 24 show at Terminal 5 in New York City. See below for itinerary. Tickets are available at http://cutcopy.net/tour/. Prior to the tour’s launch, Cut Copy will perform at several U.S. festivals, including CRSSD and Austin City Limits.

Initially a bedroom recording project by Whitford, Cut Copy evolved into a full-fledged band with guitarist Tim Hoey, drummer Mitchell Scott, and bass player Ben Browning. The quartet’s studio albums include In Ghost Colours, which Pitchfork named as one of the best albums of 2008 and among the top albums of the 2000s, and 2011’s Zonoscope, which won two ARIA Awards and was nominated for a GRAMMY.
