Swedish House Mafia Unleash “Greyhound”Mar 14, 2012
In an all-Swedish collaboration, ABSOLUT VODKA have commissioned SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA to write a bespoke piece of music for their forthcoming US advertising campaign which will roll out across Europe this Summer.
Following in the footsteps of Spike Jonze, Cee-Lo Green and Jay-Z, as well as previous works by Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, this latest pairing with SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA marks more than 30 years of creative partnerships between ABSOLUT VODKA and leading artists in music, art and fashion.
The track, entitled “GREYHOUND”, is a high octane instrumental and is available to download on iTunes now. A future live anthem, Sebastian Ingrosso picks up the theme: “When we played ‘GREYHOUND’ for the first time, it was in front of 20,000 fans at Madison Square Garden, and the reaction was amazing! It gave us goose bumps.”
SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA recently sold out all 10,000 tickets to the Friday, March 23rd Masquerade Motel Miami event to which a second date has now been added for March 24th. Tickets to the second date went on sale Tuesday, February 21 via Want Tickets. Both shows are 21 and over and run from 3PM-11PM. What’s amazing is that news of the Masquerade Motel Miami on-sale date came just 48 hours earlier when Swedish House Mafia announced it via Facebook and Twitter. A lesson in the power of social media and Swedish House Mafia’s connection with their fans, the news of the event spread rapidly throughout the world and once again made Masquerade Motel Miami the most coveted ticket of Miami Music Week.
2011 was a phenomenal year for the Swedes, in which they attained two #1 Billboard dance hits (for “Save The World” and “Miami 2 Ibiza” feat. Tinie Tempah), a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording, headlined massive events at Madison Square Garden, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas and Miami Music Week and sold over 2 million singles worldwide. With the return of Masquerade Motel Miami and a top slot on the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, 2012 is set to be Swedish House Mafia’s biggest yet.
