While North American copies of the Amp 2 collection debuted Fatboy Slim's hit "The Rockafeller Skank," elsewhere in the world "How Can You Hear Us?" took its place due to contractual reasons. Recorded during the You've Come A Long Way Baby sessions, this track is ample proof of Norman Cook's ability to snake charm people onto a dance floor. PRIMAL SCREAM - Exterminator (Massive Attack Remix) Taken from the now deleted "Kill All Hippies" single, Primal Scream's snarling electro-punk anthem of civil disobedience is given a darkly sinister remix courtesy of Massive Attack. This is one of Primal Scream's most sought-after remixes. Q-BURNS ABSTRACT MESSAGE - Feng Shui (Groove Armada Lost In Space Remix) Groove Armada take Orlando's DJ/producer/remixer Michael Donaldson's funky house track on an all-expenses paid trip to the Baleric isles. This remix taken from a now out-of-print, extremely limited UK-only 12" single glistens like sunscreen on an Ibiza beach. AIR - Casanova '70 (The Secret Of Cool - Brendan Lynch Remix) Air's defining example of '70s-style analog chill out groove has been dressed up with some suave breakbeats courtesy of Brendan Lynch, know for his production work with Paul Weller and Primal Scream. Little wonder why this extremely hard to come by, long deleted track from Air's second single is a treasured possession of any DJ lucky enough to have a copy in their collection. CASSIUS - Foxxy (Cassius Remix) This special version was available on an extremely limited, promotional-only 12" doublepack featuring four mixes of the song "Foxxy." Cassius' own remix expands on the Willie Hutch sample from the classic blaxploitation film "Foxy Brown" to create as badass a motherfunky house track as you're ever likely to hear. This is the first time this track has been made commercially available. |
